Wimbledon’s Big Final Is Set: Sinner vs. Zverev on Grass!

In the second match, Sinner — the defending Wimbledon champion — faced Serbian legend Novak Djokovic, the winner of 24 Grand Slam titles. Djokovic is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. But Sinner was simply brilliant. He won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, without making a single double fault all match. It was the second year in a row that Sinner beat Djokovic at Wimbledon.
Sinner has now won 13 straight matches at Wimbledon — one of the longest unbeaten runs in the tournament’s history.
Sunday’s final is a clash of two very different playing styles. Sinner is cool and precise, like a machine. Zverev is powerful and aggressive, hitting some of the hardest shots on the tour. Both players are in the best form of their lives.
Why Does It Matter?
Sinner is trying to win Wimbledon two years in a row — something only a handful of the all-time greats have ever done. Zverev is chasing his first Wimbledon title, which would complete a rare set called the career Grand Slam — winning all four of tennis’s biggest events.
It is also the first time Wimbledon is using video review technology, similar to the goal-line technology used in soccer. Players can now challenge calls they think a referee got wrong.
